Delivering at the OEM’s pace, without losing control of cost.
Morocco has established itself as an export-oriented industrial base, driven by automotive, aerospace and their supplier chains. Plants there work just-in-time, under EDI, with quality and traceability requirements dictated by the manufacturers. S/4HANA Manufacturing must keep that pace, and make the cost of goods visible part by part.
The problem
A core model designed elsewhere, a plant that lives here.
Many Moroccan industrial sites are subsidiaries of international groups: the system arrives with its core model, its processes and its rollout calendar. On the ground, it has to be brought to life with local realities — customs and export regimes, chart of accounts and tax, payroll, subcontractors, local suppliers — without multiplying the custom developments that will weaken the next upgrade.
Independent Moroccan manufacturers, for their part, must choose their own S/4HANA trajectory before 2027, often building for the first time a single management model for several sites. In both cases, the same requirement: the system must follow the line, not the other way round.
The stakes
What is at play from the delivery call-off to the invoice.
- Just-in-time flows & EDI
Delivery call-offs, forecast schedules, just-in-time and just-in-sequence: receiving OEM requirements, integrating them into the production plan and delivering with the right documents, without re-keying.
- Production & scheduling
Multi-level bills of materials, routings, capacities, changeovers: a realistic production plan, executed on the shop floor and confirmed in real time, with the link to execution systems.
- Quality & traceability
Inspections at receipt and in process, non-conformities, batches and serial numbers: tracing a component back to the supplier and forward to the vehicle, in a few minutes, for audits and recalls.
- Cost of goods & margins
Materials, labour, energy, subcontracting, scrap: a cost of goods by part number and by line, calculated by the system, that lets you defend a price in front of the OEM.
- Procurement & subcontracting
International and local suppliers, capacity subcontracting, bonded materials: a tooled Procure-to-Pay cycle and accurate stock, including at partners’ premises.
- Equipment maintenance
Presses, assembly lines, robots, inspection equipment: preventive and corrective maintenance in the same system as production, to arbitrate between availability and cost.
Use cases
Where SAP, data and AI change the daily life of the plant.
Core-model rollout on a Moroccan site
Receiving the group’s model, localising it (accounting, tax, customs, payroll), training the teams in French and Arabic, cutting over without stopping the line: a rollout carried by a team that knows both sides.
Document AI on supplier flows
Invoices, delivery notes, material certificates: automatic extraction and reconciliation with orders and receipts, integrated into S/4HANA, with human control over discrepancies.
Production analytics
Yields, scrap, downtime, cost by part number: indicators drawn from production confirmations, on SAP Analytics Cloud, read every morning by the site manager.
Fiori and BTP extensions, clean core
Shop-floor screens, quality-control applications, MES and EDI integrations: built outside the core, on SAP BTP, by the Casablanca service centre, to remain compatible with the group’s upgrades.
S/4HANA trajectory for an independent manufacturer
2027 scoping, scenario choice (conversion or new implementation), multi-site model, business case: a deliverable that management can sign off, then a project delivered by the same team.
Nearshore run, at the teams’ pace
Application Management from Casablanca, in the time zone of the Moroccan sites and the European head office: incidents, enhancements and user support, with service commitments.
SAP solutions
The SAP solutions for the sector.
From the S/4HANA Manufacturing core to the warehouse, planning and quality, we assemble the ecosystem around your industrial flows.
Why INTENOV
Experts who know the shop floor and the head office.
On an industrial site, those who scope are those who deliver: the same experts from the first workshop to go-live, with SAP Activate as the framework. With KOORTIS in Paris-La Défense, we speak the language of the head office; in Casablanca, that of the plant. The nearshore service centre takes over after cutover, one hour from Paris.
